Program Management Tool for Terre des Hommes

Profile of our client
Founded in 1965 the mission of Terre des Hommes Netherlands is the prevention of all forms of child exploitation, taking the children out of an abusive situation and providing them with a safe environment to develop in. Currently, it has 32 employees working in The Hague, 64 deployed globally and 1800 indispensable volunteers. Terre des Hommes NL is a member of the Terre des Hommes International Federation.

The challenge
Terre des Hommes has the vision that the organizational aim to implement high impact programs can be combined with the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) in a more efficient manner through one single application. The solution will streamline the internal processes and increase the ability to report real time about aid spending and results.

The solution
Finaps created an intuitive domain specific program management portal solution called PMEasy, which is rolled out globally. The first PMEasy release included functionalities to interactively work on designing and implementing programs, and track the progress of programs and partners. After the initial go live, an extensive roadmap was identified with subjects such as integration with Google Drive, the financial administration, (donor specific) automated reporting and web service integration to the IATI open data repository.

The result
The program management process of Terre des Hommes is streamlined and transparent. It allows for an efficient and effective assessment of programs and partners in terms of deliverables and finance. The throughput time of reporting and payments is as a result much shorter then before, leaving more time to invest in delivering high quality services to children. Furthermore, the digitalization of the capacity building interventions in PMEasy allows Terre des Hommes to better map out the results of this capacity building.

Terre des Hommes is thus able to improve both the transparency and efficiency of aid, development, and humanitarian resources in order to increase its effectiveness in tackling child exploitation.
