Our client

De Hypotheker is the largest organisation in the Netherlands for independent selection, application and realisation of mortgages. They also give advice on other housing related services such as insurances. Since their start in 1985 they served over 1 million clients in their 160 franchise branches in the Netherlands.  The umbrella organisation De Hypotheker Associatie B.V. are responsible for the administration, coordination and support of all the branches.

The Opportunity

The information on the mortgage application and approval process required more transparency for the consumer and mortgage advisor. During a period of 2 – 6 weeks, several actions and documents are required from both the consumer and the mortgage advisor. De Hypotheker wanted to give the consumer a better insight in this process together with the possibility to see the approved documents. During this exciting but often stressful time, de Hypotheker wants to support its customers where they can.

The Solution

A native mobile mortgage Track and Trace app for iOS and Android was developed and integrated with a Mendix backend. The Mendix backend handles the messaging, notification logic and the connection with de Hypotheker core systems. We developed the native mobile app on Xamarin, a platform that supports one code development of mobile apps for iOS, Android and Windows. This has a positive impact on both the development speed as on the manageability of the app.

The Result

A mobile app that supports the customer throughout the mortgage application process. In the app the customer can see the actions that need to complete the application, the documents that are created during the process and direct messages from the mortgage advisor. This makes the process for the customer of de Hypotheker transparent and less stressful.

In the future additional functionalities are added to the app such as the possibility to upload documents through the app and chat directly with the mortgage advisor.
